Our History
Following the creation of Connaught Access Flooring Limited in 1992 we have seen continued years of steady growth helping Connaught became a recognised and established business with an excellent market reputation and track record. The company developed its standing in the market place as a “go to” contractor always having a stock of materials and experienced operatives who specialised in smaller, tricky and often highly complex installations.
In June 2004 the company changed direction and under the leadership of new Managing Director, Andy Collins we immediately set about restructuring the business to create the company which today is recognised as a market leader in providing independent raised floor solutions for Blue Chip Clients for projects ranging up to £3,000,000.
Connaught has not and will never forget nor loose its roots and skill set which developed the business and now provides a business infrastructure that can cope with a steady increase in turnover within in its own market. We have identified high calibre individuals for our business and allied with regular coaching of our staff, feel that we have now have the basis to handle the full range of enquiries we receive from the small installations and remedial work right up to 10,000m2 plus installations.
In October 2008, Connaught became part of Mountfield Group Plc which has been formed to create a group which provides construction support and property services to both the private and public sectors, a team that brings a proven track record for delivering projects from £5k to £40m and each having experience of managing business units with turnover in excess of £100m annually, employing 120 staff. As a team, we have delivered in excess of £1 billion worth of contracts.
The Credit Crunch has seen a slowdown to both the construction sector and the wider economy; although testing times for all concerned Connaught has maintained a positive outlook on things and we have taken the necessary steps to broaden our client base which has seen us not only work with new contractors but also seen Connaught install a number of different products across different sectors. This expansion has seen tender numbers increase which in turn has resulted in wins for more Contractors, Architects and end users to help us expand and continue to grow our market reputation for quality and the ability to react quickly.
Whilst markets still remain difficult we are making sure that quality remains a cornerstone to our business. We continue to invest heavily in training our management team and our workforce on a regular basis, utilising a specific training matrix for each individual. This has included NVQ programmes, Supervisor Courses, Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) as well as employing a NEBOSH qualified Health and Safety Team to visit all our sites on a regular basis to ensure that the highest levels of Health and Safety are achieved. We pride ourselves in our excellent Health and Safety records and have been awarded on many of our projects for our performance.

We hope to maintain our success’ of recent years and come through this current downturn stronger and more resilient enabling us to provide high quality installations of raised access flooring and associated solutions for many years to come.
